Mr. Marland W. Nattie entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 8, 2023.Marland Washington Nattie, born on August 1, 1960, at 7A Sunlight Street, Whitfield Town, St. Andrew, Jamaica passed away on October 8, 2023. He was the cherished first child of Roy Alphonso Nattie and Ruby May Gray, both predeceased. Marland upbringing in the dynamic community of Maxfield Avenue shaped his values of discipline, selflessness and generosity, traits that defined his personality.
Education played a significant role in Marland's life. He attended Mount Faith Basic School in Trench Town before transitioning to Pembroke Hall Primary School. He later excelled at the
prestige Kingston College (KC) and pursued further education at University of Technology (Utech) and the University of the West Indies (UWI), culminating in a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies.
Marland's professional journey included notable roles at Telecommunication of Jamaica (now FLOW), where he demonstrated unwavering dedication and proficiency. Beyond his professional endeavors, Marland was deeply involved in Jamaica's basketball community, serving as the President of the Jamaica Basketball Association, Vice President of the Caribbean Basketball Confederation, his alma mater Kingston College (KC) and making valuable contributions to various sports organizations.
Marland's love for reading, music, basketball, and bird rearing was matched only by his devotion to his family. He met the love of his life, Oberon Pitterson, and they shared a beautiful bond, fostering a loving family that includes his daughter, Colleen Nattie, and grandson, Kobi Corrie. He is also survived by his siblings, Alvarene, Arthurine, Orville, and Almarie, along with numerous relatives and friends whose lives he touched profoundly.
Marland's unwavering spirit and enduring legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he has left this world, his memory will continue to inspire and
guide us. Rest in peace, our dear Marland.
